Why this workshop exists

Most parents meet the words "UPSC" or "competitive exam" only in Class 12, when the runway has already shortened.

By then the question is no longer what a child could build — but what can still be salvaged.

This workshop moves that conversation five years earlier. It is not a sales presentation and it is not a coaching pitch. It is an honest hour and a half on how selection actually happens in India — and what a parent can reasonably do about it from Class 8 onwards.

What we cover

  • The map beyond engineering and medicine

    27+ national examinations, from UPSC and State Civil Services to SSC CGL, NDA, CDS, Banking and CUET — and the ages at which preparation for each realistically begins.

  • What school does, and where the gap sits

    Why board results and selection results measure different things, and which skills sit outside every school syllabus.

  • The four skills that decide selection

    Reading with purpose, note-making, structured writing, and timed decision-making under negative marking.

  • Marks versus competence

    Why a rank list tells a parent very little, and what a competency profile tells them instead.

  • Screen time, news and attention

    How a 20-minute daily reading habit changes a child's general awareness over three years.

  • The parent's own role

    What supportive looks like, what pressure looks like, and how to tell the two apart in your own home.

  • Open floor

    The last 20 minutes belong entirely to parents' questions.

Frequently asked

Is this a sales session for a coaching course?

No. Nothing is sold from the stage. Our programme is mentioned once, at the end, and only for parents who ask.

My child is in Class 8. Isn't this far too early?

The workshop exists precisely because Class 8 is the right time to build habits, not to start exam preparation. Nothing we suggest for a Class 8 child involves coaching hours.

My child wants to be an engineer or a doctor. Is this relevant?

Yes. The four skills discussed — reading, note-making, structured writing, timed decision-making — carry into JEE, NEET, CUET and boards alike.

Will this add pressure at home?

A section of the session is devoted to the opposite question: how to identify pressure you are adding without intending to.
